iSense is a sensor that serves to measure alternating current to a maximum of 6000A. It can be simply attached around the cable to be measured and therefore significantly saves installation costs compared to customary measuring systems.
This is even possible without the need to disconnect from the power grid. Apart from that, iSens is of extremely compact and flexible design, which facilitates its deployment nearly everywhere. Its measurement error is below less than 1% of the overall measuring range.
As output signal it deploys frequently used current loop 4 to 20mA, which proportionally corresponds to the sensor’s measuring range (e.g. 0 to 400Aac). iSens2 has additionally been equipped with a pulse output in xAh/imp, which allows for connecting iSens to PLCs, measuring equipment, data loggers, displays etc. off all makes.
These properties – in combination with low cost – might constitute a milestone in the energy control sector. Because controlling the energy consumption is the step towards achieving low energy consumption rates.
